Lovell Engineering

While the company name may be new to off-roaders and dirt sports enthusiast, the organization and people behind the company have impeccable credentials going back over four decades. Lovell Engineering is a sister company of VRC, a highly respected manufacturer of heavy-duty industrial equipment and components - including those for the M-1 Tanks and Locomotives. VRC's engineering and manufacturing resources are substantial, and has the likes of General Dynamics, GE and the U.S. Government as Customers.

Lovell Engineering has introduced its model 357 transfer case for the serious rock-crawling and rock-racing competitor. This unique (patent pending) transfer case features a front/rear output control that permits maneuvers not previously possible. It also reduces on-course times thanks to “instant” shifting. It has been proven in competition by some of the nation’s leading rock crawlers, and served as their “secret weapon.”

The “357” (so named because it has a 3.57 reduction ratio) uses pneumatic pressure to actuate clutches for the front and rear outputs—allowing engagement and disengagement under any conditions without gear-binding or hanging up. The smooth, precise operation of the Lovell 357 sets it apart from other units.

Installing the Lovell 357 is easily accomplished because it’s a bolt-in replacement for the now-popular Atlas II. 357s are available configured for most popular driveline combinations.

The Lovell 357’s case is made from premium grade aluminum alloy, and can be indexed for either left or right output. The gears and shafts are manufactured from high-strength steel, and it is rated to withstand loads in excess of 11,000 ft./lbs. torque.
